The Wedding of Denean and Jacques!

A brief overview of planning in the last 8 months!

The proposal
Jacques and I got engaged the begining of may.. I dont even remember the date, but I do know it was right before mothers day. We are both really bad with dates so you cant blame me... we dont even have an anniversary, right now we just pick a date some time within June lol, its so sad. We have been together for 3.5 years to date and currently live together in a house we bought 2 years ago together. Anyways...back to the proposal. Firstly, you will have to know that jacques is the worst person to keep suprises (he gives me my birthday present a month early every year) lol. We had been talking about marriage since we first met, but it was even more so in May, I had even told him of rings I liked...and posted a pic of one as his screen saver. I think he got the clue! One day he came home from work and I told him about a ring I saw while shopping with my mom at the mall that day...thats when the beans for spilled! He told me he really wanted to propose to me on my birthday (May. 28), but he didnt know if it would be "cheesy" or not. THANKS! lol....not that i didnt expect it, but who says they were planning.... lol, there goes the romance. Later that night we were talking about it more and he was asking when would be the best time... I started thinking about it and a light bulb came on... why was I forcing him to come up with some great romantic proposal, when i know him... and i know us...and we had pretty much already agreed to get married, it was all in the asking. We then mutually decided we would get engaged that night "officially" instead of forcing it and we would find a ring together that we both loved. So that was it...we were engaged...to solidify it, he came over to my side of the bed, got down on one knee and asked the big question lol. For a while, this story was somewhat embarrasing...cuz no...it wasnt on over top proposal from a movie...in the end It doesnt matter how it happened, im just happy to be with the man i love for the rest of my life and how it happened..is very US so i have come to acceptance lol. I wish i had a grand story but no such luck. We picked out a ring at spence diamonds and we are now happily engaged!

Planning
So far we have the big stuff done...you know...we picked the date! Biggest battle! we also have the venue, the caterer, the DJ, the photographer, and the dress. With 8 months to go I think im on track! We picked our colors also.. navy and hot pink! we are going for a late summer feel, modern, fun and pretty! Very excited to share my planning!
